Hello and welcome! I am a Professor of Political Science at Loyola University Chicago’s Department of Political Science, where I am currently serving as Department Chair. I also direct Loyola’s Private Enterprise and Peace Lab, conducting award-winning research with undergraduate and graduate students.
My research and teaching interests are in the areas of international relations, with an emphasis on international conflict, conflict management, and peacebuilding. I regularly take students to Colombia and Northern Ireland to show them peacebuilding in action.
My book, The Building and Breaking of Peace: Corporate Activities in Civil War Prevention and Resolution, examines corporations’ conflict roles in building and preventing peace using original data and in-depth case analyses of corporate actions and outcomes in Colombia, Northern Ireland, and Tunisia.
I received my PhD and MA from the Department of Political Science at the University of California, Davis and my BA from the University of Georgia.
